Akon Says His Brother Secretly Performed as Him for Money

Akon once found out he was performing in Baltimore while he was sitting in New York.

Speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, he revealed that his brother had been secretly booking concerts under his name.

His brother would show up, perform as Akon and keep every dollar for himself.

“He would go as me, he was a straight gangsta about it, and keep all the money for him without telling me nothing”.

According to Akon, the crowds had no idea. They could not tell the difference between the two.

In some cases, Akon only found out about the shows when he saw flyers promoting his supposed appearance.

His brother was not just a fan. He was running the whole operation.
