Ice King Ochacho: The Son of King Ochacho Building His Own Name

In Nigeria’s fast-moving entertainment world, carrying the name of a successful father can open doors—but building a name that stands on its own requires talent, discipline and consistency. This is the story beginning to unfold around Ice King Ochacho, the young son of Nigerian businessman and real-estate entrepreneur King Mohammed Adah, popularly known as King Ochacho.

Born Shedrack Mohammed Adah, Ice King developed an interest in music at a remarkably very young age. By about seven, he was already experimenting with rap, freestyling and studying the sounds of Afrobeats, hip-hop and dancehall. His natural interest gradually developed into a serious musical ambition.

His rise first attracted wider attention after one of his freestyle videos went viral on social media. The attention earned him the nickname “Wonder Kid” and helped introduce him to a much larger audience. He subsequently released songs including “E Choke,” with a remix featuring Nigerian singer Teni. He has also shared stages with established Nigerian entertainers, including Davido, D’banj, Zlatan, Peruzzi, LadiPoe and 2Baba.

In 2025, Ice King released his six-track debut EP, I’m Back, featuring songs such as “Ochacho Money” and “Oh Papa.” The project represented another important step in his development from a young performer experimenting with music into an emerging recording artist.

However, Ice King’s story is inseparable from the influence of his father. King Ochacho has publicly supported his son's musical ambitions, and in September 2026, reports said he pledged $1 million toward promoting Ice King’s forthcoming album.

Yet the young artist faces an interesting challenge: proving that he is more than simply “King Ochacho’s son.” His family background may provide opportunities, but his music, creativity and work ethic will ultimately shape how audiences remember him.

At only 13, Ice King is still at the beginning of his journey. He is balancing education with his developing career while dreaming of taking his music beyond Nigeria. His story is therefore not yet about a finished superstar—it is about a young talent growing under an influential family name and attempting to create an identity of his own.
